Privacy Policy

This policy explains how WebGames.fun and Minesweeper Play handle information when you browse the sites or play their games.

The short version

  • Most game progress, settings and personal-state test history stay in your browser.
  • We use Google services for audience measurement; Minesweeper Play also uses Google advertising services.
  • If you submit a Minesweeper leaderboard score, the score and related technical information are sent to our leaderboard server.
  • You can clear local data in your browser and contact us about server-side leaderboard data.

1. Scope

This policy applies to webgames.fun, minesweeperplay.online, and the browser games, articles and features served from those domains. A third-party site opened from one of our links follows its own privacy policy.

The games are intended for casual entertainment. The Brain Fog Check is a recreational self-observation tool, not a medical or psychological test.

2. Information we handle

Data kept on your device

Depending on the game, your browser may store language preference, game settings, saved progress, scores, statistics, offline files, and Brain Fog Check history. These features use browser technologies such as localStorage, IndexedDB, cache storage or service workers. This data normally remains on that browser until you delete it or clear site data.

Analytics and advertising data

Google Analytics may receive page visits, interactions, referring pages, approximate location, device and browser details, and identifiers used by Google. Minesweeper Play also loads Google AdSense, which may use cookies or similar identifiers to deliver, measure and protect advertising. Google handles this information under its own policies.

Minesweeper leaderboard data

When you submit a Minesweeper leaderboard score, we send your nickname, score and game information, along with a random browser identifier and browser technical information used to identify submissions and prevent abuse, to our leaderboard service. Your nickname, score and submission date may be displayed publicly. The server may also process normal connection data such as IP address and request time.

Hosting and security logs

Our hosting, content-delivery and API providers may process IP address, request time, requested URL, browser details and diagnostic information needed to deliver and secure the services.

3. How we use information

  • Provide games, remember settings and restore progress on your device.
  • Operate the Minesweeper leaderboard and help detect invalid or abusive score submissions.
  • Understand which pages and games are useful, diagnose errors and improve performance.
  • Deliver and measure advertising on Minesweeper Play.
  • Protect the sites, comply with applicable law and respond to valid requests.

Depending on your location and the feature involved, processing may be based on your consent, providing the service you request, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the sites, or a legal obligation.

4. Service providers and sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Information may be processed by:

  • Google: for Analytics and, on Minesweeper Play, AdSense advertising.
  • GitHub Pages and related delivery infrastructure: for hosting and delivering static site content.
  • Our Minesweeper API infrastructure: for receiving, validating and publishing leaderboard scores.

These providers may process information in countries other than your own. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the services, or as part of a service transfer where appropriate safeguards apply.

5. Your choices and rights

  • Clear this site’s cookies and storage in your browser to remove locally stored settings, progress and test history. Some games also provide an in-game delete or reset control.
  • Block third-party cookies, use browser tracking protection, or enable Do Not Track. The main WebGames.fun layout does not initialize its Analytics tag when it detects a supported Do Not Track setting, although third-party services may apply their own rules.
  • Use Google Ads Settings and the Google Analytics opt-out add-on to manage Google-related data use.
  • Avoid entering a real name in the Minesweeper leaderboard. Contact us to request access to or deletion of leaderboard information; include the nickname and browser identifier if available so we can locate the record.
  • Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, or withdraw consent. We may need to verify a request before acting on it.

6. Retention and security

Browser data remains until you remove it, the game replaces it, or the browser clears it. Leaderboard records are kept while they are useful for operating the leaderboard or until a valid deletion request is completed. Analytics, advertising and infrastructure logs follow the relevant provider settings and retention periods.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to a small web service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children

The sites are not designed to knowingly request sensitive personal information from children. Children should not enter a real name or other identifying information in the Minesweeper leaderboard. A parent or guardian may contact us about information they believe a child submitted.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when site features, providers or legal requirements change. The date at the top of the page shows the latest revision. Material changes may also be highlighted on the site.
